2023 Peay Vineyards Les Titans Estate Syrah, West Sonoma Coast
The 2023 vintage allowed for a long hang time and aromas slowly built over the fall months. The Les Titans cuvée is definitely the meatier of our three syrahs and in this vintage the wine just has more of everything found in the 2023 Estate Syrah. There is more volume on the nose: The floral element floats out of the glass and into my nose located 4 feet away. On the palate there is greater depth of flavor with more black fruit and hints of iron.

When it is cool during the verasion to harvest interval the floral, herbal and pepper aromas are emphasized over fruit flavors. The Les Titans cuvée is definitely the meatier of our three syrahs and in this vintage the wine just has more of everything found in the 2023 Estate Syrah. There is more volume on the nose: The floral element floats out of the glass and into my nose located 4 feet away. On the palate there is greater depth of flavor with more black fruit and hints of iron. This is a youthful wine so if drinking a bottle upon release, give it a decant and drink it with something that has a little fat to help sculpt and soften the wine. This will be a Les Titans to enjoy now and it will have a very long life ahead of it.
