2022 Peay Vineyards Estate Marsanne/Roussanne, West Sonoma Coast

This is another exceptional vintage for our Roussanne/Marsanne. The heat around Labor Day kicked the Roussanne through veraison and we were able to get the blocks ripe before the fall rains. The nose captures the trademark aromas of orange oil, kaffir lime, Bartlett pear and white flowers. On the palate, the orange peel quality is more pronounced and bolstered by stony and salty flavors. Though we don’t use any new oak, the texture is round and silky like our Chardonnays with medium weight on a steel spine. The finish is brisk with refreshing acidity and lingering aromas of salt and stone.
