2023 Peay Vineyards West Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

Another blockbuster West Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. This is even more the case due to the superb growing season and that all the wine is estate fruit for the first time since the inception of this blend. Only bad news is we made 400 cases, not 800 cases. Boo.
The aroma is captivating with golden delicious apple and a leesy note like a toasted biscuit hot from the oven. Inflections of cooked and candied lemon pop about as you breathe in. The palate is seamless and gorgeous with silky roundness on a spine of minerality and acidity. More of the candied ginger and lemon notes come through on the palate with some toasted brioche and poached pear aromas lingering after swallowing. This is really a show-stopper Chardonnay and will be excellent on release and will age for a decade or longer.
