2024 Peay Vineyards Maritima Estate Chardonnay, West Sonoma Coast
In 2024 we had an unexpected spring frost that nipped the Chardonnay blocks. As a result, we made only half as much Maritima as in years past. Sigh. But, the good news is the style and quality are superb delivering a fresh, energetic profile with silky texture that has become the hallmark of Peay Chardonnay. The nose presents youthful aromas of white flowers, orange peel, flint, and melon. The wine is incredibly energetic with a steely spine draped in a silky robe. The finish is quite long and mouth-watering with lingering brine, cream, and mint notes.

The name Maritima is Portuguese for maritime, a defining feature of our vineyard pressed up against the Pacific Ocean and nestled in the cool and damp marine layer.
